Ordering is now closed. We expect there to be a few additional tray available in week 12.
Before you gasp at the price you need to know that this statice (Limonium) is NOTHING like the seed grown strains. This is a special offering that has taken considerable research and a year of planning to bring to market. We're excited!
So what's different? The plants get huge. They easily produce 15 to 20 stems per plant, and even more in cooler locations. The stems they do produce are taller, thicker, and the flowers themselves are fuller and bigger.
Traditional florist shops are familiar with "Tissue Culture" statice, as it is often marketed as such in the floral trade. This term is synonymous with quality.
These are only available for shipping in week 12 of 2022.
Culture- They can take a light frost, but it would be best to keep them between 35-45 F while they get established. Space 12 to 18" apart. After planting they need a week or two around or below 45 F to effectively initiate their flower buds. When the first stems are emerging from the crown, pinch them out to encourage the production of even more stems. They will continue to produce flowers until extreme heat shuts them down. Grow in well drained to sandy soils.
They are grown in a large celled 50 cell full tray and can be combined with any other week 12 items for shipping.
