A Note on Quality
We experienced some unfortunate and unacceptable quality issues with a couple of our varieties in 2024. These roots are produced by a number of different farms throughout the Netherlands and consolidated by our supplier. After receiving your feedback last year, we got to the root of the problem and eliminated the handful of underperforming facilities from our list for this year. We would rather sell fewer crates of consistently high quality than a higher volume of inferior roots.
Additionally, this year's roots will all be packed in peat or a peat-like mix in order to reduce the risk of breakage in transit and to reduce dehydration between digging and shipping.

When we Ship
The plan is for all roots to ship in mid October 2025. We will provide you with an email update in late summer as soon as we have an estimated ship week from our supplier. These plants are actively growing in the Netherlands right now, and any number of factors can affect the digging, washing, sorting, packing, and shipping timeline. It's farming after all, and we'll do our very best to keep you fully informed every step of the way!
Order Minimums
All Roots are be sold by the full crate. Peonies are packed 35 or 50 roots per crate, depending on the variety, and all Eremurus are packed 75 roots per crate.

Damaged/Missing Items
Damaged Roots
It is unlikely but possible that you might see a bit of mold on the roots upon arrival, but this is normal. Simply wash it off and plant immediately. As a precaution you can treat the roots with a fungicide or biofungicide, but this isn't necessary.
Damage in transit is unlikely, but always a possibility when shipping plant material, and we sincerely apologize any the inconvenience and frustration if this occurs.
Claims. To file a claim, email info@farmerbailey.com within 24 hours of receiving your order with your 5 digit order number, photos, and a description of the damage. Based on the assessment of our Claims Department, we'll issue the necessary refund(s) right away.
