Tray Sizes

Depending on the variety, plugs are grown in either a 128 cell tray (billed as 125), or a 288 cell tray (billed as 285). 

Lead Time

With the exception of "Available Now" trays, all plugs are grown to order. An item's lead time is the amount of time it takes to grow the seed/cutting into a ready-to-ship plug. This varies by variety, and is indicated in each product description.

Who Can order

However, any customer with a Vermont shipping address must submit a signed VT S-3A Form before making their first purchase. To do this, go to your account page and click on “edit account” below the Account Details section. (If you are already logged into your account, you can click here). Please note that files must be in PDF format.

Where we Ship

Plug Connection ships to the lower 48 United States and Alaska. Shipping is also available to Canada. Please contact us for details. 

When we Ship

Plugs ship year-round from Plug Connection in Vista, California. All plugs are custom grown to order and must be ordered 6-13+ weeks in advance of the desired ship date, depending on the product's lead time.

Ship Weeks & Week Numbers

An order's Ship Week is when it is boxed and shipped to you. When placing your order, you will be asked to select a Ship Week. Weeks run Monday-Sunday, and each week of the year is numbered 1 through 52, starting in January.

Order Minimums

Plug Connection will only ship full boxes of trays. A full shipping box contains FOUR 128 cell trays or a combination of 128 and 288 cell trays. 

*If you are only ordering 288 cell trays, then FIVE trays will fill a box.  



Active Orders

Order Confirmation

You will receive a confirmation email from info@farmerbailey.com shortly after placing your order. You will also receive an Acknowledgement email from Plug Connection within 48 hours.

Substitutions and Shortages

In the unlikely event of a seed shortage or crop failure, Plug Connection will send you an updated Order Acknowledgement email indicating this change. In some instances, a similar item may be substituted at their discretion. Alternatively, our office or Plug Connection will reach out to you directly to find a solution, be that a substitution, refund, or a combination thereof.


Order cancellations must be placed by the Wednesday before your scheduled ship week. 




Plug Shipping

All Plug Connection orders are shipped from their facility Vista, CA. Orders for different ship weeks must be placed separately. 
Orders are shipped between Friday and Monday. You will receive a shipping notification with tracking information once your order has shipped.
The prices below are the current rates for FedEx 2-Day delivery. This is what you will be charged at checkout. 
WEST COAST CUSTOMERS, PLEASE NOTE: Plug connection uses several modes of shipping, including GLS, BEKS, FedEx Air, and their own Plug Connection Trucking. Depending on your zip code, order size, the ship week, and number of other orders to be shipped to your area, it is very likely that your order will be shipped through one of these other carriers, all of which are cheaper than the FedEx rate below (in some cases significantly cheaper). In this instance, you will be issued a partial refund for freight charges after your order has shipped.

Order Pickup

Orders placed for Pickup may be retrieved between 7:30am-3:30pm Tuesday through Friday at Plug Connection, located at 2627 Ramona Drive, Vista CA, 92084

Pallet Shipping

Orders of 60 trays or more are eligible for pallet shipping. Contact us for a freight quote. 




Damaged Items

Inspect shipments immediately upon arrival. If the plants have been damaged in transit and are no longer viable, please email claims@plugconnection.com with your order number, along with a description of the damage and supporting photos (required). Claims must be filed within 48 hours of delivery.
