Tray Sizes

Plugs are grown in either a 216 cell tray (billed as 210), 128 cell tray (billed as 125), or a 51 cell half-sized tray (billed as 50). Perennials are grown in either a 32 or 18 cell tray.

Lead Time

With the exception of "Ready To Ship" trays, all plugs are grown to order. An item's lead time is the amount of time it takes to grow the seed/cutting into a ready-to-ship plug. This varies by variety, and is indicated in each product description. For example, lisianthus has a 12 week lead time, so if you want lisianthus plugs delivered to you in Week 13, the order must be placed by Week 1 at the latest. Place orders as early as possible to ensure access to your desired products and Ship Weeks.

However, any customer with a Vermont shipping address must submit a signed VT S-3A Form before making their first purchase. Gro 'n Sell ships to the lower 48 United States and Alaska via FedEx or UPS 

When we Ship

Plugs ship year-round from Gro 'n Sell in Chalfont, Pennsylvania with the exception of Weeks 51 and 52, due to Christmas holiday shipping delays. All plugs are custom grown to order and must be ordered 6-13+ weeks in advance of the desired ship date, depending on the product's lead time.

Ship Weeks & Week Numbers

An order's Ship Week is when it is boxed and shipped to you. When placing your order, you will be asked to select a Ship Week. Weeks run Monday-Sunday, and each week of the year is numbered 1 through 52, starting in January.

Order Minimums

The minimum order is THREE full trays (or the equivalent of half trays) per ship week. Ordering in multiples of three full trays delivers the best value for your shipping dollar. Empty space in a shipping box also increases the chance that plugs will be damaged in transit.

Order Confirmation

You will receive a confirmation email from info@farmerbailey.com shortly after placing your order. You will also receive an Acknowledgement email from Gro 'n Sell from email@gro-n-sell.com within 48 hours. 

Substitutions and Shortages

In the unlikely event of a seed shortage or crop failure, Gro 'n Sell will send you an updated Order Acknowledgement email indicating this change, then our office or Gro 'n Sell will reach out to you to find a solution, be that a substitution, refund, or a combination thereof.


Prior to shipping, we can generally accommodate most cancellations of trays or orders, and refund in full. If you wish to cancel your order, please email info@farmerbailey.com. Your order is not cancelled until you have received confirmation from Farmer Bailey and an updated acknowledgement from Gro 'n Sell reflecting the cancellation.




You will receive a shipping notification (with tracking information) when your order ships. PLEASE NOTE: Your tracking number may take up to 24 hours to go live after you receive it. Follow the tracking, and make every effort to be home to receive the plugs when they arrive. Farmer Bailey and Gro 'n Sell are not responsible for product that is left unreceived, stolen after delivery, or that perishes in an unopened box. 

Plug Shipping

All Gro 'n Sell plugs are shipped from their facility Chalfont, PA. Orders for different ship weeks must be placed separately; orders for Plugs and Vernalized Perennials must also be placed separately. 

 Orders are shipped between Monday and Wednesday. You will receive a shipping notification with tracking information once your order has shipped.

Perennial Shipping

Because they are shipped dormant (or just coming out of dormancy) they will look dead or yellowed on arrival. But never fear! They are simply waking up, just like all of your other perennials. 

All shipping rates are calculated per box. The minimum order is TWO trays per ship week. You may mix and match any of the Vernalized Perennials grown in 18 or 32 cell trays.

Order Pickup

If you live in Pennsylvania or New Jersey, you may select the Free Local Pick Up option at checkout. The Local Pick Up window is Thursday through Friday only, at Gro 'n Sell's facility in Chalfont, PA.  Local Pick Up trays are unboxed and may be ordered in any quantity. Gro 'N Sell will contact Local Pick Up customers by phone to schedule. By choosing Local Pick Up, customers agree to receive phone calls from Gro 'n Sell to schedule their time slot. Customers who do not respond to attempts to schedule pick ups or who do not show up to pick up orders will not be refunded. 

If you live in a state other than PA or NJ and wish to pick up your order, please contact us and we will get you set up. 



Damaged/Missing Items

Jostled plugs

Plugs may occasionally pop out of their tray during transit. As long as the plant itself is not damaged, you can simply bump them into a larger tray (such as a 72) right away, give it a good drink, and it should be a-ok.

Damaged plugs

Damage in transit is an unfortunate reality when shipping live baby plants, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and frustration. But fear not! We will work with you to make things right.

Claims. To file a claim, send an email to claims@gro-n-sell.com with your order number with a description and photos of the damage (required), and they will move forward with filing a claim right away. Based on their assessment of your claim, Gro 'n Sell may issue a refund, send a replacement, or a combination thereof. 

 *Claims must be filed within 48 hours of receiving the box in order to be eligible for a refund/replacement.

Missing plugs

Due to any number of unforeseen circumstances that can arise, Gro 'n Sell will occasionally (albeit very rarely) have to unexpectedly ship partial trays. If you received a partial tray, know that our office has been made aware of this shortage and you have already, or will soon be, refunded. 



"Ready To Ship" trays

How it works

When extra trays become available, we post them as "Ready To Ship" items. These are typically posted on Fridays around Noon ET and ship the following week. We do not know what will be on the list ahead of time, or if there will be any Ready to Ship on a particular week.
