Ship Weeks & Week Numbers

An order's Ship Week is when it is boxed and shipped to you. Weeks run Monday-Sunday, and each week of the year is numbered 1 through 52, starting in January. Click HERE to access our downloadable ship weeks calendar. Orders for multiple ship weeks must be placed separately.

Order Minimums

The minimum order is a full shipping box containing six (6) 36 cell half trays to fill 3 slots in the box. TERRA NOVA® Nurseries is a purely wholesale business and cannot accommodate orders that do not meet this minimum requirement. They can only ship full boxes, so orders must be placed in multiples of 6 half trays.

Damaged Items / Claims

Jostled Plugs

Plugs may occasionally pop out of their tray during transit. As long as the plant itself is not damaged, you can simply bump them into a larger tray right away, give it a good drink, and it should be a-ok.

Damaged Items and Filing Claims

Inspect shipments immediately upon arrival. Should your order be damaged in transit, please contact sales@terranovanurseries.com with your 5 digit order number, photos of damaged product and packaging, and a description of the damage within 24 hours of receiving your order to start the claims process. TERRA NOVA® Nurseries will work with you to find a solution.

Dormant Plants

If you are receiving plants between September and April you may receive dormant plant material. These flats will be clearly marked with “GROWER ALERT” tags with special instructions. Please email info@farmerbailey.com if you have questions about dormant plants.

In an ongoing effort to reduce waste and plastic consumption,TERRA NOVA® Nurseries is moving away from large plastic labels in every tray during the winter months. Instead, each tray will have either a Blue or Yellow adhesive label on the end of the flat identifying it as coming from a cold or warm greenhouse.

Trays with BLUE labels

  • The young plants you just received with a blue label on the tray will tolerate less cold than established plants.
  • Plants received late fall through winter in dormant state should be maintained in frost free environment between 35°-45° F
  • Plant should be kept moist but never wet
  • Fertilizer should be withheld until new growth begins to appear as temperatures warm.

Trays with YELLOW labels:

  • Trays marked with a yellow label are coming from a warm greenhouse and should be maintained at temperatures above 55° F and gradually cooled over approximately three weeks to the 35°-45° F range (when appropriate).
  • It is important that young plants coming from a warm greenhouse be kept growing, and not allowed to go dormant due to cold temperatures.
