Variety Judging

Sleeves will be removed for display and judging. The Farmer Bailey team will arrange the stems in individual vases.

Any variety that is or has been listed for sale by Farmer Bailey is eligible for entry. The plants do not need to have been grown from Farmer Bailey plugs (they can be seed grown or supplied by another vendor).

Flowers will be judged starting at 8am on Wednesday July 24. All entries must arrive before 8am. The entries will be anonymous until judging is complete.

Judging will be subjective, but the following criteria will be considered.

  • Overall visual impact
  • Stem length
  • Flower size
  • Uniformity
  • Cleanliness
  • Free of pest damage
  • Proper stage of harvest
  • Proper post harvest care
  • Expresses the potential of the variety
Single Bunches

Single Bunches

This is your chance to show off a bit, so bring your best bunch of flowers grown from Farmer Bailey plugs and perennials! Bunches should contain 5 to 10 stems each and you will be asked for the exact variety or labeling purposes. We expect to have specific categories such as Lisianthus, Scabiosa, Foliage, Echinacea, Snapdragon, Miscellaneous perennial, etc. Actual categories will be formulated based on entries.

Any current or former Farmer Bailey product is eligible for entry. Bunches will be arranged in clean glass vases by Farmer Bailey staff. The best growers of the best bunches will receive Farmer Bailey discount codes of appreciation.

Market Bouquet

Mixed Bouquet

Bring a farmer’s market style bouquet that will be judged by your peers. Each attendee will get to vote on their favorite bouquet. The grower and designer of the best bouquet will receive a Farmer Bailey discount code of appreciation. The bouquets should be made of mostly Farmer Bailey products, but feel free to incorporate other elements as well.

Awards

The most distinguished entries will be recognized with $1,000 in Farmer Bailey discount codes. These codes do not expire and can be applied to any Farmer Bailey purchase or shipping.

You do not need to be present to win.

I have mine in my room now and will bring them to the lobby by this evening. They are all single stem woodies. All from.mature plants on my farm. I do not have an appropriate vase for their best display, but maybe you do ??
