Pantone Color of the Year 2025 Predictions
Close your eyes and envision the tone of 2025. Is it the refreshing blue-green hue of Eucalyptus, or a warm lilac shade of Callicarpa berries? Is that a splash of blue Delphinium Belladonna on the horizon, or the return of rich yellow-gold Chrysanthemum Saffina?
Color trend prediction favors the visionary and the observant, whether the information is gathered from personal experience, Pinterest digging, or market research.
On Thursday, December 5, 2024, the Pantone Color Institute™ will announce their Color of the Year 2025. Pantone Color Institute™is a consulting service within Pantone that forecasts global color trends and advises companies on color in brand identity and product development, for the application and integration of color as a strategic asset.
Vice President Laurie Pressman writes, “The Pantone Color of the Year 2025 will soon be revealed, showcasing the chosen color’s psychological meaning and its trend relevance across design. Selected through a combination of global research and analysis, the color highlights how what is taking place in our global culture is expressed and reflected through the language of color.”
Forward-thinking flower farmers and designers don’t just follow trends–they set them. The Farmer Bailey team pulled some on-trend floral and greenery selections (all available at farmerbailey.com) to represent a few potential candidates for the Color of the Year. We took some tiny liberties, as we impatiently await the day we can offer you a true aquamarine flower as vivid as Limpet Shell, 13-4810.
White Grape 14-0442
Lisianthus Rosanne 1 Clear Green
2025 Color of the Year contenders are often influenced by pop culture. White Grape, 14-0442 is Brat, just like Lisianthus Rosanne 1 Clear Green.
Crocus 16-3115
Callicarpa Magical Deep Purple
Last year’s Barbie pink could evolve into a more sophisticated and understated Crocus, 16-3115. Callicarpa Magical Deep Purple's mauve highlights shine in its saturated shade.
Limpet Shell 13-4810
Delphinium Belladonna Cliveden Beauty
Limpet Shell, 13-4810 is a bold aqua that is not often seen in floral form, but sky-blue Delphinium Belladonna Cliveden Beauty never goes out of style.
Lime Cream 12-0312
Lisianthus Celeb 2 Green
Lime Cream, 12-0312 and Lisianthus Celeb 2 Green are serving crisp and subtle celery. While green flowers are not for everyone, your most sophisticated customers will appreciate this fresh and optimistic hue.
Kashmir 17-6319
Eucalyptus Silverdrop
Eucalyptus Silverdrop and Kashmir, 17-6319 stay cool in dusty blue-green. Eucalyptus is a bit tricky to start from seed, making it an excellent candidate to start from plugs.
Misted Marigold 14-0757
Heirloom Chrysanthemum Saffina
Will Misted Marigold, 14-0757 be the shining champ that finally brings yellow back? The Farmer Bailey team went bold and off-book with this choice of Heirloom Chrysanthemum Saffina, a multi-colored spider mum with ray-like petals.
In 2024, Peach Fuzz, 13-1023 was crowned the Color of the Year. The grand reveal was not a surprise to floral designers, since peach, apricot, and pale coral tones have been quite popular in floral design for many years. Lisianthus Voyage Light Apricot has been a Farmer Bailey bestseller since our launch in 2017!
Color preferences are subject to the tastes of the day, but are deeply tied to emotion. Color resonates through the spirit and informs our aesthetic choices as consumers and creatives. What’s your color call for 2025?
