When it comes to farming, almost nothing is a 100% lock–except for bugs and weather. If your flowers don't exactly match the catalog photo–but are true to type–there are a few reasons this can happen.
Some crops naturally vary in shape or color depending on their environment. Some crops respond strongly to differences in light intensity, temperature, stage of harvest, day length, soil fertility, and pH. These factors may affect height, color, petal count, and petal texture, to name a few.

Color and Form Variations in Rudbeckia hirta Sahara
We use a combination of our own photos, customer photos, photos provided by the breeder, and third-party stock photos. Sometimes the photo provided by the breeder or seed company is edited to accentuate certain qualities. While we are pretty good at spotting such situations, we have not personally grown every item in our catalog, and compared it with the marketing materials of each supplier.
Technology (monitor settings) and environment (ambient lighting) can influence the way we see color on a screen. Our photos are non-contractual examples of how our products might appear when they bloom.
While we make every effort to provide accurate photos of each product, we cannot guarantee that your blooms will be exact visual matches to the photos on our website every time. We will not issue refunds for any product determined to be correctly labeled, even if it varies slightly from the photo on our website.
We guarantee that our products are true to type. If it is obvious that a mixup occurred at some point in the supply chain we will work with you to resolve this situation. Thankfully such occurrences happen rarely, but humans are involved in every step of the growing process and mixups do happen. We acknowledge that some of the photos on our website need updating. While we do photo shoots as often as possible, we always welcome your photo submissions.
