Pinching | Do not pinch. |
When to Plant | Plant in the spring after the threat of frost has passed. Plugs can be planted later in the season as well, through to the end of summer. |
Harvesting | Harvest flowers when they are half open for longest vase life. Keep flowers cut or deadheaded to prolong the flowering period of the plant. |
Post Harvest Care | Cut stems should immediately be placed into cool water. Expect a vase life of approximately a week. Use a floral preservative to maximize vase life. |
Diseases / Insects | Plants can be affected by aphids and whiteflies. Resistant to most diseases but botrytis and mildews are possible in areas with poor air movement or in periods of extended dampness. |
Bailey's Notes | There's nothing like a few stems of Geum in a spring bouquet to add a touch of movement and whimsy. |
