With leaves that are as big and bold as the sun, this beautiful gold form of Aralia makes an outstanding accent in the shade or part shade. Fast growing and deciduous. Small clusters of white, satellite-like flowers in late summer are followed by purple berries. Performs well in containers or in the landscape. Fast to fill a pot.

Aralia leaves make long lasting cut foliage. The clumps get bigger each year.

Plug Care Harden off and plant out or bump up into larger pots soon after receiving plugs. When planting out be sure you to not bury the crowns. Plant the plugs so that the top of the growing medium is level with the soil.

Soil Preference Prefers a good, deep loam. Moist, well draining soil is best. Allow to dry moderately but not completely between waterings.

When to Plant Plant plugs in the spring after last frost or into the summer. Plants should be given enough time to establish a healthy root system before the onset of winter weather. 
Harvesting Leaves can be used as filler.
Post Harvest Care Cut stems should be plunged into cool water. Maximize vase life by using a floral preservative. 
Diseases / Insects Aphids, spider mites and mealybugs are possible pests to keep an eye out for. Leaf spot disease is possible - avoid wetting the foliage during irrigation and space out adequately to allow for proper airflow between plants.
