  Is there any place listed there variety of peony that blooms in Northern CA. That doesn’t need a hard frost to bloom.

  Hi Suzanne! Thank you for checking out the Peony roots. Peonies typically need a significant number of chill hours (500-1000 hours below 45°F) in winter to set buds and bloom well. However, some varieties have shown promise in warmer zones (Zone 8–9+), where chill hours are limited.   Hi, What does “very late” mean in terms of blooming? Is it around Thanksgiving and Christmas? Thanks!

  Hi Nan, thanks for your comment. In the context of Peonies, “very late” means the end of the blooming season in your area. Weather will also affect blooming windows. ~Felicia
