Lisianthus Arena

$80.00
Tray Size: 125
Variety: Kilimanjaro (group 2)

Arena is a solid series, and has become a favorite with American growers. The color range increases each season!

The "red" is more of a carmine, smaller flowered than the rest of the series, with charming striped buds.

Last chance for Kilimanjaro! This variety is discontinued, and once we're out of seed that'll be it.

Order 12 or more weeks in advance of desired ship date.

Regarding Arena 3 Red, it simply takes 1 week longer to produce than all other Lisianthus. Contact us if you would like this variety. It will delay your order by one additional week.

Grown in either a 216 (billed as 210) or 128 (billed as 125) plug tray.

What are Lisianthus Bloom Groups?

Lisianthus bloom groups tell you in what order your Lisianthus will flower. Group 1 flowers first, followed by 2, 3, and 4.

Bloom initiation in Lisianthus is a complicated relationship between day length, light intensity and temperature. If you need to plant in a warmer time of year, choose group 2 or 3 Lisianthus as they won't be triggered to flower until they have developed a good root system.

You can plant all groups at one time without issue. Planting 6-8 weeks before your last frost gives them a long cool period in which to establish roots before the heat of summer. Lisianthus are a perennial in the wild, and this cool period will simulate winter for them. They can take some light frost after they are hardened off.

If your season is long enough, you can expect a second flush of bloom from your Lisianthus. Some even report 2 or 3 additional flushes after the first harvest.

About Tray Sizes

210 and 125 cell trays are full-sized trays, and three of these will fit in a shipping box.

50 cell trays are half-sized trays (unless otherwise noted) and two of these are the equivelent of one full sized tray. Six of these will fit in a shipping box.

18 and 32 cell trays are full sized trays specifically for our vernalized perennials. These have their own set of shipping rules (find details HERE) and cannot be combined with items grown in 210, 125, or 50 cell trays.

About Shipping

All plugs are shipped from Gro 'n Sell, located in Chalfont, PA via FedEx or UPS to the lower 48 states and Alaska. Due to transit times and regulations, shipping to Hawaii is not available at this time. International shipping, including to Canada, is not available at this time.

Please note that orders for Plugs and Vernalized Perennials must be placed separately.

An order's Ship Week is when it is boxed and shipped from Gro 'n Sell to you. When placing your order, you will be asked to select a Ship Week. Weeks run Monday-Sunday, and each week of the year is numbered 1 through 52, starting in January.

Orders for different ship weeks must be placed separately. Orders are shipped between Monday and Wednesday; your order should arrive between Thursday and Sunday of your selected Ship Week.

All shipping rates are calculated per box. The minimum order is THREE full trays per ship week. Ordering in multiples of three full trays delivers the best value for your shipping dollar. Empty space in a shipping box also increases the chance that plugs will be damaged in transit.
