Tray Size: 50 (half tray)
Variety: MOONLIGHT GLORY™

We all know our native goldenrod, and may even forage for it from time to time. Heavy breeding has been going on for decades to refine the wild forms in to a productive and uniform cut crop. It is now one of the leading filler flowers in the industry.

While there are a few cultivated forms available in the US, most are useless dwarf garden types. I am excited to offer some of the best from Danziger's breeding program.

Golden Glory™ is one of the leading varieties available today. It produces wide conical shape inflorescences in abundance.

Romantic Glory™ is a creamy yellow colored cultivar with a more conical shape but also highly productive.

Solar Glory™ has large inflorescences and large florets on a strong stem

SUNNY GLORY™ has medium sized flowers that are produced in abundance.

Moonlight Glory™ is a very pale, almost cream colored variety

These were bred for production in frost-free equatorial climates, but have proven to be just as hardy as their native counterparts.

This is grown in a HALF TRAY.

About Tray Sizes

210 and 125 cell trays are full-sized trays, and three of these will fit in a shipping box.

50 cell trays are half-sized trays (unless otherwise noted) and two of these are the equivelent of one full sized tray. Six of these will fit in a shipping box.

18 and 32 cell trays are full sized trays specifically for our vernalized perennials. These have their own set of shipping rules (find details HERE) and cannot be combined with items grown in 210, 125, or 50 cell trays.

Netting / Staking Not necessary
Temperature Range Hardiness zones 3-9
Spacing 12"
Soil Preference Loose, well draining, amended with organic matter
Day Length Quantitative long day plant - requires a minimum of 13 hours daylight in order to elongate and flower. Grow in full sun.
Pinching Yes - pinch approximately 3-5 weeks after planting when the main stem starts to elongate. Cut low on the central stem to encourage strong side shoot development.
When to Plant Plugs can be planted any time of the year but perform  best when planted in cool conditions - early spring in  most zones.
Harvesting Harvest when just the top flowers in the inflorescence begin to open.
Post Harvest Care Cut stems should be placed immediately into cool water. Floral conditioners help to extend vase life. To avoid botrytis in the cooler, dry any residual moisture on the foliage before storing. Can be kept for a few days in the cooler if not needed right away.
Diseases / Insects Aphids, white fly, leaf miner, caterpillar, powdery mildew, rhizoctonia, agrobacterium
Bailey's Notes As with any quantitative long day plant, artificial lighting can be used in a greenhouse during the winter months to mimic long day lengths and initiate early flowering.
